In Judo, posture is important! The ideal way to freely deliver judo throws is; an upright position, knees bent, head centred over the hips, feet directly below the hips and shoulder-width apart.
In addition, movement of the hips will often signal your opponent’s real intention. This is why the ideal Judo posture allows for free movement. It is inherently stable and balanced.
