June is a busy month for Karate in Canada, with some major tournaments of note happening within our great country. First up we have the 2019 Canada Open, hosted by Karate BC June 01 and running until June 2nd. This event is being held at the world-class Olympic Oval Facility in Richmond, BC. This tournament will host athletes and spectators from around the world for 2 days of action-packed Kumite and Kata competition.
The Canada Open is one of the largest karate tournaments held in North America and it offers divisions for all levels and ages using World Karate Federation (WKF) rules. All levels of athletes are welcome to participate in this event from Novice athletes, all the way to the Elite level fighters.
Also inclusive in this event are Kobudo (weapons) kata and Para-Karate, which is growing very strong all over the world with athlete participation and support from most major WKF organizations.
